PUBLIC HEARING - Held May14, 2025

The cities are actively seeking to encourage public involvement as the Project continues to be evaluated.  The cities jointly sponsored and held a Public Hearing on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in the Wixom City Council Chambers to obtain input on the EA and PA and the overall Project as well.  The Public Hearing was attended by approximately 60 people.  Displays were provided on various details of this exciting potential project and valuable feedback was obtained and will be utilized as the Project continues to be evaluated.  The transcript of the Public Hearing is available in two formats but the content is the same.  Click on the larger print/79 page PDF or click on the smaller print/34 page PDF.

We also sought public feedback through responses to a survey on this page of the website.  The formal public comment period, including the Comment/Survey Form, closed on May 28, 2025.  We received eight (8) public comments via the survey process, click here to see all the survey responses.

In association with the 05/14/2025 Public Hearing, we provide the following documents, click on the link to access the information:

In reaction to specific questions at the May 28, 2025 Public Hearing, we are also providing feedback we received on the Project from prior public engagement efforts.  Click on the following links:

UPDATE - FONSI

Coming out of the Public Hearing and the public engagement efforts and results, the cities of Novi and Wixom submitted a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for the Project in July of 2025.  You can click HERE to view the FONSI submission.

The FHWA responded to the submission with a determination letter (click HERE to view the FHWA determination letter) to the cities granting a FONSI for the Project, based on the Public Hearing, engagement results, the submission from the cities, etc.

Stay tuned to this page for future input opportunities, as well as the websites of our participating communities. There is a lot to share about this exciting project; thank you for visiting and please contact us if you want to learn more!
